Liked: Everything was excellent. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The location was perfect, quiet, safe and within easy walking distance of Salamanca Market, Battery Point and the city centre. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Liked: The apartment was perfect for our 3 night stay, it had everything you wanted in a serviced apartment. The kitchen had everything you would expect to prepare a meal, we chose to eat out. We were on the 3rd floor, the view was amazing. The location was excellent. Walking distance to supermarket's and lots of places to eat or get a drink. 10 minute walk down to the ferry to Mona and salamanca market.
There wasn't any negatives for us during our stay.

Liked: Excellent location with an easy walk into Hobart City, Battery Point "Village" and Salamanca via Kelly's Steps. Great to leave the car behind on these days. Modern-looking series of apartments with car parking
The accommodation was excellent. Comfortable bed and pillows, clean and well-appointed room, spacious, desk, two lounge chairs, table and chairs, smart TV, quiet & enough equipment for making a snack or breakfast.
We were on the ground floor, so no "view" as such, but a private courtyard with seating that was appreciated. The views were everywhere outside in Battery Point, and we tried all the coffee shops! Lots of options for breakfast through to dinner
I also enjoyed being on the ground floor with excellent security arrangements. Liked the staff-operated desk from early morning to quite late at night - much appreciated. Supermarket down the road and a bottle shop a few minutes' walk away.
Enjoyed staying here as a base for our Hobart and beyond explorations. Loved that we were located in Battery Point. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at St Ives Apartment in Hobart. The location was excellent, with easy access to Hobart CBD and Salamanca Market, making it very convenient for exploring the city. The apartment was comfortable and suited our needs well. We also found the rate to be very competitive, which made the stay even better value. Liked: The most amazing stay! Probably the best value for money in Hobart. Everything was clean, tidy and thoughtfully set up with everything you could need and more. The kitchenette, two tables, comfortable beds and sitting areas made it feel like a home away from home.
The location is fantastic, right in Battery Point and only a 15-minute walk to the CBD. We absolutely loved it! The staff were wonderful throughout our stay, especially the cleaning team, who were so lovely and made up our room every day.
Our only regret is not booking a room with a balcony!

They offer convenient free parking and is close enough to the restaurants of Sandy Bay and Salamanca Place to walk to. The rooms are comfortable and have a small kitchen and sitting area with comfortable chairs. The staff are lovely too.

Liked: I loved the location and the kitchenette. It really helped to have those extra facilities. Parking was easy and free! The bed was so soft and comfortable. Room was warm on arrival. TV easy to use. Overall a great stay. We will be booking St Ives again for our stays in Hobart.
Disliked: Doors around the vicinity were loud when shutting but expected with that many people staying.

Liked: Everything about my stay was quick and easy. There were plenty of parking spaces in the hotel car park, and I was greeted at reception by a lovely lady who checked me in efficiently and told me all I needed to know about the hotel and local area. The room was huge and had everything I needed, with a very comfortable bed, large TV, and a great shower with strong water pressure. After settling in, I wandered down the hill to the Salamanca marketplace. It's an easy walk there and back - it took me about eight minutes each way and I enjoyed the walk. Bonus points for having a bottle shop right next door too!
Disliked: Only a minor thing, but I'd have preferred shower gel to soap. No bother, I just used the shampoo as bodywash instead.

Liked: Location, size, amenities, staff, cleanliness. Nice tidy spacious, well laid out apartment. Power points next to bed & desk. TV pivots so you can watch it anywhere. Shower taps are not under the shower head so you can turn on the shower to adjust temperature without getting wet. Comfortable bed.
Disliked: I didn't have any troubles with on site parking, however, it does get pretty full

Liked: A great spot, with a well equipped room and facilities. The location was ideal for us, very close to all amentities, but also very quiet and with a fantastic view over the Derwent River Bridge at night. The staff were friendly and very helpfull.

The room was large and clean, with good facilities. Bathroom was spotless.
The location was excellent, just a few minutes' walk from the heart of Battery Point, with easy access to Salamanca (just noting that the property is on slope. Also a short walk into the Hobart centre. Lots of cool bars and restaurants nearby, as well as the excellent Salamanca Fresh supermarket.
I would happily stay here again.
Disliked: The property was advertised as apartments but the vibe was more like a motel (no big deal, just worth mentioning).

Liked: Excellent room and well worth the value for money! Brilliant and friendly staff who were always eager to help with anything big or small. Great instructions in the communal areas for usage of the laundary/washing
Disliked: Location of the accomodation was slightly away from the conference i attended - commute was either a walk or a car drive and I would say a car is almost essential

Pros - Excellent amenities: comfortable bed, kitchenette (mini fridge, stove, kettle), and laundry (washing machine and dryer) - Free parking next to the hotel - Very good price quality ratio, especially if you stay multiple nights - Late check-in cutoff time for Tasmania (9pm)
Cons - Location is a 15-minute walk from Hobart CBD; limited dining options nearby - Laundry is on the expensive side: AUD6 each for a wash cycle and a drying cycle - Parking gets sparse if you arrive late in the evening

Liked: The location of the establishment in the Historic Center of Hobart, the receptionist who attended me on the day of my arrival (I think her name is Jess), very nice. The apartment is very well equipped, with a comfortable mattress.
Disliked: During the afternoon and evening, and for several days, children could be heard running in the upstairs room where I stayed. I think the soundproofing of the building isn't very good... During the night, it was "quiet," although the neighbor right next to me was watching TV at high volume one night until the early hours.

Liked: Location was extremely close to everything , comfortable bed and amazing staff, kitchen utensils were easy accessible.
Disliked: There wasn’t a fan in the bathroom, made everything in the bathroom damp, towels never really dried, shower doesn’t drain properly and water goes all over the floor

May 2026I enjoyed my most recent stay at St Ives and hope to return again.
Liked: Location: close to Salamanca Square and walks to Sandy Bay Yacht Club.
The quiet location. Good for sleeping.
Disliked: The kitchen and shower taps were stiff, so when turned on, release a gush of water.
The shower floor is slippery when wet, but the shower head delivers water all over the shower recess and onto the floor, as the screen is not wide enough to stop it.
One of those non-slip rubber shower mats inside the shower would avoid potential falls.

May 2026Very pleasant accommodation for a multi day trip to Hobart.
Liked: Located in easy flat walking distance to Salamanca Place and not too far away from the CBD. (15 mins enjoyable walk) Not more than 15 minutes drive to the MyState Bank Arena. Plenty of options for eating out close by in Battery Point and Salamanca Place.
Rooms are very comfortable with opening door to outside balcony for the Tasmanian fresh air. Kitchenette is equipped with basic items for cooking or reheating meals. Great sized shower with good heat and pressure. Bed was very comfortable.
Off street parking on the property was good, close to the front entrance.
Disliked: Early risers in the room above woke us up at 5am for two mornings and they seemed to be opening and closing every drawer multiple times!

St Ives is in a great location being easy walk to Battery Point restaurants and cafes. The room had everything we needed and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. All staff were super friendly. Would definitely stay here again when in Hobart.

Liked: Having stayed at St Ives several times before, the visit was much as expected. Excepting for one stand-out moment.
Brittany was on duty at reception on Friday night when we arrived. As we approached the counter a fire alarm went off. She handled the situation with calm poise and equanimity (yes, I know that's tautological, but the emphasis is appropriate). Brittany even managed to smile gently as she directed us and others out of the building, and she kept that demeanour after we returned. It should also be noted she did not evacuate with us, she walked towards the risk (probably against policy, but I care less for that) to investigate the emergency (a burnt hamburger).
Brittany's manner with people is so pleasant and confident - characteristics that build a sense of reliability and assurance in customers. She can have a great future in hospitality - and probably many other career paths. Take good care of her: she's a gem.

Liked: Comfortable stay, easy check in. Booked an apartment with cooking facilities and was not disappointed. Lift access to rooms. Noise was minimal and unit was close to Hobart CBD and within walking distance.
Disliked: Lights were all or nothing. Couldn’t put on individual area lighting in room.

The hotel was lovely and the reception staff were friendly. I had traveled in that day and taken the Skybus from the airport. It was a bit of a hike to get to the hotel, but not impossible. I did not feel like looking for dinner so late, so I took advantage of their continental breakfast option to purchase. The mini kitchen in the room made it easy to toast up the bread and enjoy the food. This is probably a better spot when you are going to be in town for more than one night. But it served my needs well and I would stay there again.

Liked: The facility has all we require for a 4-day visit to Hobart, close to Salamanca Market and the wharf. The room is very well appointed with a convenient kitchenette, a desk, and comfy furnishings. The bathroom is modern with great mirror lighting for applying makeup. A bonus is adequate free parking.

There is parking on the premises, and check-in was smooth. The location is in a quiet residential area, about a 5-minute walk to Salamanca Market, and you can easily reach the city center if you venture a little further. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. As it is an apartment, it has all the basic dishes, cooking utensils, a microwave, and an electric kettle, so you can stay for several days and cook your own meals. Laundry facilities were available in the common area. Even after checking out, they allowed me to leave my car at the hotel while I went to Salamanca Market, which is held every Saturday.

There is a coin laundry available (washing machines and dryers are separate).
Disliked: There is a parking lot, but it was difficult to access because it's on a slight slope.
It's not far from the city center, but it's about a 10-minute walk to Salmanca Market, which might be tough if you're tired.
