Liked: The room was great with everything you needed in a kitchenette. The bed was comfortable and the location was amazing as you could walk everywhere in 15 to 20 mins, lots of cafes and restaurants handy, and good on site parking.

Liked: An outstanding property, very clean, spacious rooms and the staff were outstanding. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were well equipped for a short visit. We will definitely make the St Ives our place to stay when in Hobart.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike, but a small suggestion to add a few place mats and/or coasters to put hot items on the tables.

Liked: The position was close to Town, Salamanca restaurants and Sandy Bay shops. Car parking was provided on site and the room was well equipped and roomy.
Disliked: You could hear other guests moving around on the floor above. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom/toilet area.

Had a room on the ground floor which is below grade given the building is on a slope. However, you still have a small patio which sits between the building and the adjacent road. The room and bathroom are well appointed , and unlike most places, there is a large raised bench to store keep your open luggage.

Liked: A fairly modern motel type accommodation, perfectlyaccommodation, perfectly acceptable, but it isn’t as characterful and interesting as other accommodation in the battery area of Hobart.

Liked: The location is very convenient, only a three-minute drive to the area with supermarkets and restaurants, and only five minutes to Hobart city center; the rooms are very spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen is well-equipped; the only drawback is that the soundproofing is not good enough, and it was quite noisy during the holidays when many families stayed there.
Disliked: During the holiday season, the parking lot was quite full, and the lanes leading to the exit and the second-floor parking lot were rather narrow, making driving difficult.

Disliked: Uphill from city area so may not be suitable for people with mobility constraints. We were on 3rd level and there was an air conditioning pump noise external to our bedroom.

Liked: My room was fabulous , a huge king size bed and a single . The view was exceptional across the harbour. Kitchen was excellent and everything provided to provide a meal and packed lunch for day trips, including a Tupperware box to carry it in. The staff were so kind and helpful and friendly , I would 110%recommend staying here if you are visiting Hobart . Just a ten minute walk to Salamanca area and Franklin wharf.

Liked: The location of St Ives was excellent. In Battery Point with all the beautiful old houses and easy walking distance to Salamanca & the pier. Bed was very comfy and very impressed with the kitchen facilities as were very handy instead of dining out all the time.
Disliked: Don't have any complaints. Maybe a room with a view of the Harbour but that would be determined by the room & price I paid for. Would definitely stay here again but next time upgrade to a higher floor. I found the price was very reasonable for the area and value for money.

Feb 2026The St Ives Apartment was a major contributor to a lovely, relaxing and engaging stay in Hobart.
Liked: We loved everything. The apartment was large, clean, with a fully appointed kitchen and balcony overlooking part of the city. The bathroom was large, roomy and fully appointed as well. The staff was excellent, cleaning the rooms daily and the location made for easy travel to the city centre and other parts of Tasmania. We will definitely be back.
Disliked: There was nothing that was lacking.

Liked: The location was great, only 10-15 minutes walk to the Brooke St Pier, the shopping centre for groceries was only 10 minute walk in the other direction, and over the 8 days I was there, I walked to town and didnt need public transport.
Being an apartment and not a hotel room, you had a small kitchenette, with a 2 burner cook top. You can cast your streaming services to the TV in your room.
The room was a great size and had a balcony.
Disliked: The balcony didn't have an outdoor setting, but that may have something to do with the weather, Hobart is a very windy city.

Great staff, nice rooms with kitchen and a toaster. Even a pot of spread left in the fridge from a previous guest was welcome, went well on the toast! Really enjoyed the 15 minute walks down the hill to dine and shop, beautiful gardens and buildings left right and centre. Quiet spot away from the CBD, plenty of free parking.

Liked: Very clean and the design for the bathroom, kitchen is very considerate and humanity friendly. Good location.
Disliked: The carpark is very squeezed.

Liked: Perfect location for walking to the Salamanca Markets and some delightful local shops.
Main bedroom with queen size bed was roomy.
Second bedroom with two single beds is quite small.
Very comfortable beds.
Bathroom worked well. Good hot water and towels etc.
Kitchen looking a bit tired, but was functional for our needs.
Comfortable meals and sitting area.
Nice balcony, although no outdoor seating, so took indoor seating outside. Not a big issue.
We would stay here again.
Disliked: Quite a bit of street noise at night time, but I slept well once asleep.

In 3 months travelling Australia, St Ives was the nicest accomodation we stayed in QLD, NSW, VIC & S AUS. it was not super fancy but was convenient, friendly, all amenities were absolutely functional, and very well laid out. Location was near harbour, market, museums & botannical garden so we could leave car parked & walk everywhere. As said, St Ives was the best hotel experience we had in Australia.

Our room was excellent. It had everything we needed. The only thing was that the fridge made periodic noises. Staff were friendly and helpful and the position was very good.

Room was clean, check-in super smooth, great little apartment for a few days stay with super friendly staff. Daily housekeeping including coffee and tea in a spot that you could comfortably live for a while. Awesome location about 7 minute walk to the heart of Salamanca. Will become my regular stay for Hobart.

Very clean.
Great parking that’s free! I’ve stayed elsewhere in Hobart not too far away and had to pay $40 per night to park!!
Staff were fantastic.

Liked: Loved the location. The room was clean. Loved having cooking facilities.
Disliked: It would have been perfect if there were an electric blanket but I understand this can be a risk. Perhaps warmer sheets/blankets.

Liked: Location is excellent short walk to Salamanca or Sandy Bay or even Hobart CBD. Ideal location if you are doing the annual Point to Pinnacle or Point to pub which my wife was doing.
Good parking, nice friendly staff easy check in and good value.
Rooms neat and tidy and more than adequate for a two night stay.
Disliked: Not necessarily the owners problem but the room above us seemed like the occupants were wearing army boots

Liked: Perfect location, less than a ten minute walk from salamanca and less than fifteen minutes from the cbd. Staff were fantastic, and the kitchen was fully equipped.
Disliked: Found a few clumps of hair stuck the wall of the bathroom upon arrival. Bathroom also had a funny smell to it that didn’t go away throughout my stay.

Liked: Oversized rooms with nice outlook, lovely staff who fulfilled everything I asked of them, with onsite parking. Great location, pretty close to the Casino in one direction and very close to Salamanca, the Hobart ferry wharfs, and Hobart CBD on the other.
